Mečichov

Mečichov ( German Metschichow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-east of Horažďovice in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Strakonice.

Geography

Mečichov lies on the right bank of the stream Mečichovský creek on a plateau in the hill country Blatenská pahorkatina. To the west and south-west stretches a cascade of ponds, of which the Věžiště, the Bilý kámen and Bejchlín are the greatest. Northeast to MISNA hora collected ( 556 m), in the southeastern Hřeben ( 597 m)

Neighboring towns are Čečelovice in the north, Záboří and Katovsko in the northeast, Nahošín, Doubravice and Chalupy in the east, V Horách Třebohostice and Zadnà Zborovice the southeast, Hlupín in the south, U Leşu and Horažďovice - Předměstí the southwest, Libučka and Babín in the west and Komušín and Slivonice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1539 as a possession of the Hospitallers Coming Strakonice. In 1840 Metschichow / Mečychow consisted of 65 houses with 401 inhabitants. In the village there was a private school with a maintained by the community teachers. Vicarage was Zabór. Until the mid-19th century Metschichow always remained the rule Strakonitz submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Mečichov / Metschichow formed a parish in the district team Strakonice and the jurisdiction Horažďovice. In 1949 the parish was assigned to the newly formed Okres Horažďovice, after its abolition in 1960 she returned to the Okres Strakonice.

  • Chapel of St. niche. Trinity, north of the village on the cemetery of the MISNA hora
  • Conservation area PLA Bily Kámen ( Věžiště ), the 15.84 -hectare wetland around the pond Věžiště was added to the national Natura 2000 directory because of the presence of the Dark Wiesenkopfameisenbläulings.
