Formation

As real founder of the style early West Coast hardcore groups such as Adolescents, Bad Religion and the Descendents apply. The development took place about the same time as the emotional Hardcore, Emo short, instead, which was created from circles of the Washington D. C. - hardcore punks. So there are smaller but similar or parallel developments that have contributed to the emergence of styles.

Skate Punk

An especially harmonic and melodic - sometimes studded with strong pop-punk approaches - version of the Melodic Hardcore is often equated with skate punk, but is only one of several (though arguably the most popular ) dar. genres within this movement fact, however, depends on the distribution this Melody cores together in the 1990s, certainly with the simultaneous popularization and industrialization of the skateboarding sport. Bands that are associated with this style are mainly the Satanic Surfers, Lagwagon, Millencolin and NOFX. The borders with melodic hardcore bands blur however.

Melodic hardcore is played very fast and energetic, the songs are usually relatively short. From the classic hardcore punk found in Melodic Hardcore whose typical simplicity of the song structures and the often political and socio-critical messages of the texts. In contrast, using the Melodic Hardcore often more sophisticated and melodic guitar riffs.

Part-songs built-in - Often - as opposed to the normal hardcore. The song can be natural or usual consist of howler / Write deposits as in the hardcore / punk. Often there is also a voice that alternates between melodic vocals and harder Shouts, which here again is a remote resemblance to Emo.
