Mignavillers is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Mignavillers situated at an altitude of 282 m above sea level, 9 km east-northeast of Villers Exel and about 30 km east of the town of Vesoul (air line). The street village extends into the broad Talung the river Scey, on the western edge of the hilly landscape of the Bois de Granges.

History

The territory of Mignavillers was already inhabited in prehistoric times, which could be proven by the remains from the Neolithic period and cemeteries. In the Middle Ages Mignavillers belonged to the rule Granges, which was under the suzerainty of the Counts of Montbéliard. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France.
