NBA Coach of the Year Award

The NBA Coach of the Year Award ( Red Auerbach Trophy ) will be awarded to the best coaches in the North American Basketball League NBA since the 1962/63 season. The winner will be determined by an election at the end of regular time every NBA season. The right to vote is a selection of U.S. and Canadian sports journalist. Each voter assigns a voice for the first, second and third coach of his choice. The first vote is evaluated by five points, the second vote with three points and the third voice with a point. The coach with the highest absolute score receives the award as Coach of the Year.
