Nordleda

Nordleda ( Low German De Lee) is a municipality in the country Hadeln in Cuxhaven in Lower Saxony. She is a founding member of the Samtgemeinde Hadeln.

Geography

Geographical Location

Nordleda located in the Lower Elbe region.

The proximity to the mouth of the Elbe and the North Sea bring with it the danger that in the event of a dike breach at a storm surge the municipality more than 1 m above sea level lies would be flooded to a large extent. One possible scenario is described in the article Glameyer stack.

The Wilster has its source in Nordleda that receives numerous stakes bet up to its confluence with the Medem. The place also has extensive farmland and the nature reserve Aßbütteler Moor.

History

Nordleda was first mentioned in documents in 1312, but is older than the church dedicated to St. Nicholas was built in 1200.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was adopted in 1938 and is in the sign on a green background a wave beam, which symbolized the creek Lee ( Leh ). Above the coat of arms Lappe family plays, which held, among other things, the patronage of the Nordledaer St. Nicolai Church in the 14th century. It shows on a red background with a silver Sparre three silver stars.

Traffic

Nordleda does not have much traffic engineering significance. It does not perform any highway through the community. The country road L118 crosses the city and connects with Long Wanna, new churches and Otter village.
