Nosivka

Nossiwka (Ukrainian Носівка; Russian Носовка / Nossowka ) is a city in Chernihiv Oblast of Ukraine, and the center of the same name Rajons with 15,900 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2005). Administratively, the municipality is divided in addition to the city proper or in the 4 villages Debrewe ( Дебреве ) Schowten ( Жовтень ) Lukaschiwka ( Лукашівка ) and Pidhajne ( Підгайне ).

History

The city was first documented in 1147 under the name Nossiw na Rudi. 1960 Nossiwka received the status of the city.
