Oulens-sur-Lucens

Oulens -sur -Lucens was a municipality in the district Broye Vully the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. On 1 July 2011, they went on in the community Lucens.

Geography

Oulens -sur -Lucens is located on 633 m above sea level. Level, 16 km southwest of the district town Payerne ( straight line ). The small village extends on a terrace on the western flank of the Cerjaule, Molassehügelland in the northern Vaud Mittelland.

Population

With 52 inhabitants ( 31 December 2010) Oulens -sur -Lucens was one of the smallest municipalities in the canton of Vaud. Of the residents gave in the year 2000 100 % French as the main language. History

The first documentary mention of the place was already in the year 595 under the name Ollens. Later the names Oulyn, Ollo, Dou Dou Lin Lyn and published. The place name comes from the Burgundian personal names Ollo back (derived from Adlo, Audilo or Odilo ) and means for the people of the Ollo.

Since the Middle Ages was under Oulens -sur -Lucens the Savoy castle Bailiwick Lucens. With the conquest of Vaud by Bern in 1536, the village came under the administration of the bailiwick Moudon. After the collapse of the ancien régime Oulens -sur -Lucens belonged from 1798 to 1803 during the Helvetic Republic to the canton of Geneva, who came up then with the enactment of the Act of Mediation in the canton of Vaud. 1798 was assigned to the District Moudon.
