Palpalá

Palpala is the capital of the departments Palpala in the Province of Jujuy in northwestern Argentina. It follows on directly from the provincial capital San Salvador de Jujuy, and together with this a metropolitan area with about 280,000 residents.

History

The founding date of the city is the 17th April 1948.

Economy

The industrial production of Palpala includes the iron processing ( Altos Hornos Zapla - AHZ ) and papermaking ( PapelNoa ).
