Paudex

Paudex is a municipality in the district of Lavaux -Oron in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Geography

Paudex is located on 382 m above sea level. M., 3.5 km southeast of the canton capital Lausanne ( straight line ). The suburban community of Lausanne extends north to Lake Geneva on subsequent slope, east of the creek Paudèze, in the extreme west of Lavaux.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1220 under the name Paudais. Later, the names Poudans, Poudais, Poudaix and Poudays followed.
