Peter Müller (skier)

Peter Müller ( born October 6, 1957 in Knives ) is a retired Swiss ski racer.

Career

The specialist for fast control loops won 24 World Cup races in his career, including 19 downhill runs and is measured by the victories behind Franz Klammer ( 25 downhill wins) the second most successful skier in history. In the years 1979 and 1980 he won the small crystal globe for winning the Downhill World Cup. In 1982 he won the first super -G, which was held as a World Cup competition.

At the World Championships in Bormio in 1985 and 1989 in Vail, he came second in the downhill. This placement he also achieved in 1984 and at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo and Calgary. 1987 in Crans -Montana, he celebrated his greatest success when he became world champion in downhill skiing.

Peter Müller is now active orienteers and is one of Switzerland to the best of his age group.
