Plainfeld

Plainfeld is a municipality in the province of Salzburg in Salzburg-Umgebung in Austria with 1229 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013).

Geography

The municipality is located in Flachgau in Salzburg 12 km east of the city of Salzburg in the judicial district Thalgau.

The neighboring municipalities are Eugen village, Hof bei Salzburg, Thalgau and Koppl.

History

1154 was the first mention of the place by Engelschalkus of Pluginveld. The tower of the church built in 1798 fell already in 1800 again. 1891, the Vicariate Plainfeld was elevated to parish.

Policy

The municipal council of Plainfeld has 13 members and is composed as follows since the local council elections in 2009 together:

Directly elected mayor is Wolfgang Ganzenhuber (ÖVP ).

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of the municipality is: "In a red shield with black, coated pile of golden head of the shield a green three mountain from whose summit spring means five narrow silver streams, radially upward continuously. The mean streams are occupied together with a golden rings. "
