Polling im Innkreis

Polling im Innkreis is a municipality with 959 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel. The competent court is the district court district of Braunau am Inn.

Geography

Polling im Innkreis is located on 385 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 4.9 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 6.3 km. The total area is 15.1 km ². 9.9% of the area is forested, 84.8 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Waters

Through the village, the forest Zeller Ache and parallel to the Mettmacher Ache flows.

Coat of arms

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: In a golden green, abutting St. Andrew's cross, topped with two red, diagonally crossed Glevenstäben. The municipality colors are green, yellow and red.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

Population Development

In 1991 the community had 905 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 919 inhabitants.

Culture and sights

  • Parish Church of St. Andrew: Built around 1485 in late Gothic style, later Baroque, Neo-Gothic altars. Band and lattice stucco by Johann Michael Four Thaler ( 1730 ). There is a fresco ( "The good and the bad Beter " ) and a stone relief ( "Christ on the Mount of Olives " ) on the outer wall.
