Rimsting

Rimsting is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim. The health resort is located at the Chiemsee between the spa towns Prien am Chiemsee ( 3 km) and Bad Endorf ( 5 km).

History

The first mention in the Codex Falkensteinensis was in 1189, but the foundation should be done as early as the 7th century. Rimsting belonged as Greimharting to the equipped with the high- jurisdiction rule gamekeeper. Rimsting was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community.

Religions

As of June 2003 2.446 people were Catholic, Protestant 673 persons and 728 persons without or had other religions.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1970, the voluntary inclusion of the community Greimharting took place in the community Rimsting. On 1 April 1971 parts of the dissolved municipality Wall churches were incorporated ( Siegl pond, Gmein and Hötzelsberg ). On January 1, 1972 parts were added by Hirnsberg ( Hocheck ). In 1978 came from the community Pietzing the places Ratzing with Herrgottswinkel, Hitzing and Kindl Point to the municipality Rimsting.
