Robin van Persie ( born August 6 1983 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch footballer who is currently active as a striker for Manchester United.

Career
Clubs
He began his career van Persie in the youth of Excelsior Rotterdam. Later, the striker moved to local rivals Feyenoord, where he won the UEFA Cup in 2002.
In the 2004/05 season van Persie moved to the Premier League for Arsenal. His debut for the club he made in a 3-1 victory in the Community Shield against Manchester United.
On 21 January 2007, van Persie broke in the game against Manchester United during the Torjubels the midfoot and fell to the season end. Until that time, he scored in the 2006/07 season 11 goals in 17 league games, with which he became the top scorer of Arsenal FC.
In the following years, van Persie was followed by injury problems. He lost his place among others in the 2007/ 08 season to Eduardo and could therefore not set accents this season.

On September 24, 2011 Robin van Persie scored in the 3-0 win against Bolton Wanderers his 100th competitive goal for Arsenal. On 29 October, he scored a hat-trick in a 5-3 success against Chelsea.
In April 2012, van Persie was both in the choice of professional representation PFA (Professional Footballers Association), which is conducted among English professional football players, as well as of the English football journalists of the FWA (Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year ) for voted player of the year in England. At the end of the season van Persie was top scorer in the Premier League with 30 hits.
In July 2012, van Persie 's 30 June 2013 expiring contract with Arsenal announced not to want to extend. To be able to still take a transfer fee Arsenal was ready to let the captain of the team. On August 15, 2012 was finally agreed with the Premier League rivals Manchester United on a transfer of international striker. Two days later, the transfer was finally completed after successfully passing a medical examination and van Persie signed a four -year contract until the end of June 2016. English media reports said the transfer fee paid to Arsenal to have amounted to the equivalent of 29 million euros. On August 20, 2012, he played in the 0-1 defeat against Everton on the opening day of the 2012/13 season his first competitive game for the Red Devils. On 2 September, he scored his first hat-trick for Manchester United against Southampton FC. Robin van Persie scored Manchester United with 25 goals for the season championship and became the second consecutive time scorer.
On March 19, 2014 Robin van Persie scored the Red Devils with a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory over Olympiakos Piraeus and thus secured Manchester United the entry into the CL quarterfinals.
National
In the Dutch national van Persie made his debut on 4 June 2005 against Romania (2-0 ) when he came on in the 64th minute for Ruud van Nistelrooy. On his second international match against Finland, he scored his first goal for the national team. At the 2006 World Cup, he was a regular player and scored a goal; also at the European Championships in 2008 he belonged to the squad of the Oranje, was used in all four games and scored two goals. In the 2010 World Cup Van Persie was set as a center forward, but could only achieve a goal in the competition. Despite the unusual defensive play of the Dutch team could reach the final, in which Van Persie was in the starting. However, they lost 0-1 after extra time with a goal from Andrés Iniesta. On 2 September 2011, he scored against San Marino at 11-0 record win of the Dutch in the European Championship qualifiers with four goals.
