Ron Hainsey

Ronald Hainsey ( born March 24, 1981 in Bolton, Connecticut ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since September 2013 in the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

During the NHL Entry Draft 2000 Hainsey was selected by the Montreal Canadiens as a whole 13 players in the first round, having previously played Development Program of the U.S. Ice Hockey Federation USA Hockey and the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the U.S. National Team.

After finishing his junior career, he played in the American Hockey League farm team for the Canadiens, the Quebec citadels, and from the 2002/03 season as the Canadiens had changed partners, for the Hamilton Bulldogs. For the Canadiens the defender played in the years 2002 to 2004 a total of 32 times, reaching two points scorer, including a goal. On 29 November 2005 Hainsey moved to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

On 2 July 2008 Hainsey signed as a free agent a five-year contract worth 22.5 million U.S. dollars in the Atlanta Thrashers. After two years with the Winnipeg Jets, who emerged from the Thrashers, he joined in September 2013 the Carolina Hurricanes on.

Internationally

For the U.S. Hainsey took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 1999, the U20 Junior World Championships 2000 and 2001 and the 2009 World Championships in part.
