Rovná (Strakonice District)

Rovná ( German Równa ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers northeast Strakonic in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Strakonice.

Geography

Rovná is on the left side of the creek Rovenský creek in the hills Blatenská pahorkatina. To the north rises the Chlum ( 544 m), to the east the Borovnice (500 m ) southeast of the Brdo (508 m ) in the west of Jaslov (521 m ) and northwest of the Ostry ( 522 m), the ZBUS ( 449 m) and the Sedlina ( 479 m). On the north- western edge of the pond is Rovenský rybnik, to the southeast of Velky přešťovický fishpond. On the southern outskirts of the village, the main road runs I / 4 between Strakonice and Pribram.

Neighboring towns are Radomyšl and Osek in the north, Rohozná, Jehnice and Kbelnice in the Northeast, Nova Dobev, Vítkov and Slatina in the east, Přešťovice, Přeborovice and Sedlíkovice the southeast, Modlesovice and Slaník in the south, Strakonice and Řepice the southwest, Horejsi Mlýn and Droužetice in west and Černíkov, Domanice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds indicate a prehistoric settlement in the area. Near the village, a settlement site and a Urnenfeld the Knovízer culture and a further settlement of the Hallstatt culture was discovered. Are located on the Sedlina two tumuli of the Hallstatt culture from the 5th century BC, three more on the Chlum and one south of Rohozná. In the local situation V Lemúzích the archaeologist Bedřich Dubský was one of the oldest Slavic settlements of Strakonice country.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1319 as the seat of Hroznata de Rownych. The court of the Lords of Równa went out in the 14th century. From 1414 was a part of the village to the estate Domanice. 1454 bought the estate Vlhlavy a share of Równa. This part was 1528-1553 for Good Řepice, the other portion had in the 16th century, the rule Strakonitz. Later, the rule Stiekna acquired both shares.

In 1840 the village Równa northwest of the Passauerstraße location consisted of 56 houses with 322 inhabitants, including an Israelite family. In the village there was a stately Grange with a large garden, a hunter house, a tavern and a lime kiln emphyteutisches. Away was a knackery. To Równa several limestone quarries were operated. Vicarage was Stiekna. Until the mid- 19th century, the village of Allodialherrschaft Stiekna together with the Good Mladiegowitz remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Rovná / Równa formed in 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district of the Strakonice. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1902 and is the oldest club in the village. In 1961, the incorporation of Řepice and Rohozná. On April 1, 1976, the municipality Rovná was dissolved; the districts Řepice and Rovná were umgemeindet to Strakonice on and Rohozná to Osek. After a referendum Rovná broke on November 24 again in 1990 Strakonic off and formed its own community.
