Rowing at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's lightweight double sculls
The rowing competition in the lightweight double sculls women at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from July 29 to August 4, 2012 at the Dorney Lake. 34 athletes in 17 boats were on.
The regatta, which was held over 2000 meters, began with three heats. The first two boats qualified for the semifinals, the others had in the hope runs. The finale was the first Olympic victory of a British boat in the lightweight double sculls women. For the first time there was a medal for a Chinese and a Greek boat in this class of boat. Christina Giazitzidou and Alexandra Tsiavou are also the first Greek women who could win a medal in the Olympic rowing.
