Seth P. Waxman

Seth Paul Waxman ( born November 28, 1951 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American lawyer and former United States Solicitor General.

Biography

After attending high school in Hartford, he studied at Harvard University and completed this study in 1973. Subsequent post-graduate studies in law, he graduated in 1977 with the degree of Juris Doctor ( JD ) from. Subsequently, he was appointed professor of law at Georgetown University, where he worked until 1997.

Waxman is a member of the Democratic Party and was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the U.S. Solicitor General in November 1997. The third-highest position in the Ministry of Justice of the United States he held until the end of Clinton's term of office in January 2001.

Then he returned as professor back to the Georgetown University and joined at the same time in 2004 in the law firm Wilmer Hale, a, a law firm with over 1,000 lawyers and is based in Washington.
