Sirolo
Sirolo ( in the local dialect: Sciròlo ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3967 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ancona in the Marche. The community is located about 13.5 kilometers southeast of Ancona on the Adriatic coast. The Aspio limits the municipality in the southwest.
History
In a quarry between Sirolo and Ancona can understand the transition between Oligocene and Eocene. The name of the village derives from a knight of Belisarius. Originally it was the settlement area of the Piceno.
Traffic
The Autostrada A14 from Bologna Taranto direction forms with the Aspio the southwestern boundary of the parish.
