Sousedovice

Sousedovice ( German Sousedowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southwest of Strakonice in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Strakonice.

Geography

Sousedovice is located in the left side above the valley of Volyňka in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest. The village is situated at the confluence of the creek with the Smiradický Libětický Potok brook. To the north of the V Holi rises (435 m), the South East Vlčíny (524 m ) south of the Hradiště (604 m) and Ostra ( 595 m) in the southwest of KBIL (664 m) and west of the Kamenná bába ( 557 m ). To the north stretches along the edge of the forest Hůl (Hol ) at a pond area with the Velkoholský rybnik and six other ponds.

Neighboring towns are V Holi, Pracejovice, Bažantnice, Virt and Nový Dražejov in the north, Kalvárie, Strakonice, Stara Valcha and Mutěnice in the northeast, Radošovice in the east, Přední Zborovice and Strunkovice nad Volyňkou the southeast, Slukův Mlýn and Libětice in the south, Úlehle, Zahorčice and Švejcarova Lhota in the southwest, and Smiradice Lhota u Svaté Anny in the West, Makarov and Drachkov in the northwest.

History

On the hill Hradiště was during the late Hallstatt and La Tène between the 5th century BC and the 1st century a Celtic hill fort. This was probably to protect the leading through the valley of Volyňka route of the Amber Road and the dominion of the prince attributed by Venec. Between the 8th and 10th century a wooden Slavic fortified settlement was located on the hill.

The first written mention of Soschedowitze took place in 1243 as Bavors I. Strakonitz of the village together with Lom, Ptákovice, Miloňovice, Radošovice, Libětice, Mutěnice and Krty and the Church of Sts. Prokop and a house in Strakonice donated to the St. John 's Hospital in Prague. His wife left the Dobislawa at the Church of Sts. Prokop furnished in Strakonice formal convention of the Knights nor the villages Makarov, Kozlov and Mnichov. 1251 the donation was confirmed.

In 1840 Sausedowitz consisted of 36 houses with 205 inhabitants. In the village there was a school since 1836. Abstruse was a knackery. Vicarage was Strakonitz. Until the mid- 19th century, the village remained subservient always Strakonitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sousedovice / Sausedowitz formed in 1850 with the district Smiratice / Smiratitz a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district of the Strakonice. In 1964 the incorporation of Libětice. After a referendum Libětice became independent again on 24 November 1990. 2007 began the construction of the transmission and the observation tower on the KBIL, which opened the following year.
