Střelské Hoštice

Střelské Hoštice ( German jet Hoschtitz ) is a municipality in the region Jihočeský kraj ( South Bohemia ). It lies on the left bank of the Otava River five kilometers southeast of the town Horažďovice.

History

The beginnings of the town, which at that time still called Hoštice, lie in the 13th century. During the period of membership of the rule Střela the village was called Střelohoštice. Since 1924, the place is called Střelské Hoštice.

Receive is still a Renaissance castle from the mid-16th century. After renovations in 1928 and in the 1950s, when the military was the owner, the old building will get now tried. Built in the classical style church of St. Martin was built in the 19th century.

In the vicinity of Střelské Hoštice the river Otava traces from the time of the gold rush can still be seen.

The municipality consists of the villages Střelské Hoštice Kozlov ( Koslau ), Saddleback (saddle), Střelskohoštická Lhota ( b Lhota. Beam Hoschtitz ) and Střelské Hoštice ( beam - Hoschtitz ).
