Sulzdorf at the Lederhecke ( officially: Sulzdorf adLederhecke ) is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön - grave field and a member of the administrative community bathroom Königshofen in the grave field.

Geographical Location

Sulzdorf A.D. Lederhecke is located in the Main- Rhön. The site is adjacent to the Free State of Thuringia ( slipways and Schweickershausen in the district Hildburghausen ).

History

1199 was built by Heinrich von Sternberg from the family of the Counts of Henneberg a castle at the foot of Sterinbercs. 1695 bought by the Baron von Guttenberg possession around the Castle Sternberg.

In Sulzdorf at the Lederhecke the Reformation was introduced in 1555 by the Steward of Wetzhausen. Already since 1537 to have been there already preached Protestant. From 1628 to 1649 the site was temporarily Catholic again by the Counter-Reformation.

Sulzdorf was part of the manor of the Barons von Guttenberg, the 1806 mediated by the Grand Duchy of Würzburg of Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany and with this in 1814 fell to Bavaria. 1933 to 1945 was in the castle, the SA Training Camp Sternberg.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, until then independent municipality Swan Hausen was incorporated. Obereßfeld was added on 1 January 1973. Serrfeld, Sternberg in the grave box and Zimmerau followed on 1 January 1978.

Population Development

Policy

Mayor was up to the 2008 election Lorenz Albert ( Together for Sulzdorf ). He won in 2002 only by the first drawing of lots at a mayoral election in the history of Germany against Reinhold Albert ( CSU), after both had received the same number of votes in the second ballot. From 2008 until his death in September 2010 was Walter Krug (CSU), mayor of the municipality. New elections in December 2010 decided Angelika Götz clearly for itself .. In March 2014, it was confirmed unopposed with 93.77 % of votes in office. She went to party affiliation for the lists free- constituency association Sulzdorf / Zimmerau citizens / voters Community Obereßfeld.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 418 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. ADAC Rallye grave field

The most important major event in the town is the ADAC Rallye grave field whose focal point is on the Sulzdorf Lederhecke. They take place late June or early July each year. The rally is organized by the AMC Bad Königshofen since 1994 and is one of the most important events in the entire district of Rhön - grave field. The large support among the populations, with local people, farmers and tenants, as well as hunting by politicians have made the grave field rally for most participants automobile rally event in Germany. 10,000 spectators and a record field of over 250 competitors from home and abroad flocked alone for anniversary event in the summer of 2013, thus the " grave box " one of the biggest racing events of its kind in Europe has become. The very challenging routes of the grave field and the atmospheric ceremony in rally tent, which stands on the sports field of Sulzdorf, also contribute to the legendary reputation of this event significantly with. On 5 July 2014, the grave field rally will start for the 21st time in and around Sulzdorf at the Lederhecke.
