Torre Pellice

Torre Pellice ( Piedmontese la Tor, Occitan la Toure de pelis; earlier Torre di Luserna ) is a small town and municipality with 4539 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Turin (TO ), Region Piedmont. Torre Pellice was the capital of the three historic Waldensian valleys (Val Pellice, Chisone and Valle Germanasca ) and is still the center of Chiesa Valdese italiana ( the Protestant Waldensian Church ).

The neighboring municipalities are Angrogna, Villar Pellice Luserna San Giovanni and Rorà.

Geography

The town is located 40 km southwest of Turin in the lower Val Pellice - about 15 km from the mouth of the Pellice in the butt - at an altitude of 516 m above sea level. The municipality covers an area of ​​21 km ².
