Vehicle registration plates of the United Arab Emirates
In the United Arab Emirates only police and diplomatic license plates will be awarded nationwide uniform. All other license plates are issued by the appropriate Emirates. The different systems are similar, but show differences in the design of signs.
Central Sub- indicator
Diplomatic plates are divided into three parts. They show in the center of the shield a white hexagon, flanked by two colored boxes on the right and the left. The inscription of the signs is kept in black color and bilingual, in the upper half in Arabic script, in the bottom with Latin characters. The left panel shows how the color of both fields, the status of the diplomatic mission of the country's name appears (UAE or Arab الإمارات العربية المتحدة ) in right field. In the middle of the first number encodes the corresponding message. It is followed by a slash and a sequential number.
Characteristics of the Emirates
Abu Dhabi
Two-line flag have a red top line. First, the name of the Emirates (Arabic: أبو ظبي ), then a series number and the lettering الامارات /, the Emirates ' appears. The lower part of the plate is white and shows a maximum five-digit serial number. Single-line number plates show the left margin the red box with the serial number. After each follow black and white, the two Arabic words and serial number. As the German font FE- font is used.
In Abu Dhabi license plate will be auctioned with a low serial number. The first plate issued with the number 1 reached a record price of about 10 million euros. Earlier, the No. 5 was sold for about 3.5 million euros.
Older indicator show on the right side a colored box with the inscription ا ּ ع ּ م ( UAE) and أبو ظبي (Abu Dhabi ) and the abbreviation AD. The remaining plate has white background and black font. It appears a maximum five-digit serial number, above in Arabic, down in European writing. In one-liners on the European number follows the colored box, and the Arabic numeral marks the end.
The color of the field gives information about the progression of the system by encoding the hundreds of thousands of blocks of numbering. A plate with the serial number 1234 and a green field ( 200,000 ) is thus the 201,234th award.
Export number plates have a blue background and white lettering. They show, among other things, the word EXPORT, the Arab note للتصدير / for export ' and the identification of the origin ( ADUAE ). Furthermore, it is to see a maximum five -digit number.
Ajman
The smallest emirate has license plates with black letters on a white background. They show the name of the country as well as the Emirates ( AJMAN or عجمان ) in Arabic and Latin script. Furthermore, the letter A or B, and a serial number are located in European notation on the sign. For one-line mark, the letter on the right side, followed by state and emirate name and serial number. In couplets, the serial number are on the top line. Framed by the name of Emirates (left) and the country ( right) of the single letter appears in the middle of the bottom line.
Dubai
The number plates in Dubai are white and show black font. Single-line signs show left a series letters, followed by the name of the emirate in Arabic and Latin script. Finally, still seems a consecutive number in European digits. Occasionally, an image of the Burj al Arab in Dubai city is on the mark. In couplets to letter and serial number are on the top line, while the designation of the Emirates will appear below it.
Fujairah
In Fujairah, almost the same number plates are issued in the Emirate of Ajman. On the plate there are here, however, the abbreviation of the country name in Latin characters ( UAE) and the name of the emirate in Arabic ( الفجيرة ). As in Ajman and a two-line labels are assigned.
Ra's al -Khaimah
In the Emirate of Ras al -Khaimah, the license plate showing the name of the country and the Emirates (RAK or رأس الخيمة ) in Arabic and Latin script. The signs also show black text on a white background. Furthermore, an illustration of a watchtower is on the sign. Two-line plates show the names in the top row, the bottom displays a sequential number. In one-liners the serial number follows after the text.
