Vehicle registration plates of Qatar

The current license plate of Qatar were introduced in December 2011. They show in the left margin in line with the Euro plate of a stylized Qatari flag with the white inscription Qatar Latin characters. On a white background the country's name follows in Arabic script (Arabic: قطر Qatar, Qatar DMG ). The actual registration consists of six digits. Furthermore, there is also a hologram seal on the sign that aim to discourage counterfeiting. Qatari license plate will be awarded in both U.S. size as well as in the European standard size (520 × 110 mm).

From 1997 to 2011, the signs also had black writing on white background. They first showed the country's name in Arabic script (Arabic: قطر Qatar, Qatar DMG ) and a two -digit number that encrypted the vehicle type. 01 ( 01) was here for private vehicles. The actual registration consisted of a maximum of six digits that appear in both Arabic and in Latin characters on the plate. Furthermore, there was a sticker that stated the maximum validity of the authorization in Arabic script on the label.

1983-1997 were used with green background number plates. The signs were divided into four fields, with always the name of the country and the type of vehicle appeared on the left side in both Arabic and English ( QATAR ). On the right side, which consists of a maximum of six digits registration number was shown.
