Vehicle registration plates of China

By 1992, the Chinese license plate were green. On this the name of the province and a number combination were. Since 1992, the labels are blue with white letters on large vehicles yellow with black lettering. Province shortcut with the following O has a police car down, eg京O, O.沪 使, shǐ as the first character indicates the embassy or Konsularfahrzeuge. (甲乙丙 丁 戊 己 庚辛 壬癸, jiǎ yi bǐng DING Wu Geng jǐ xīn řén guǐ ) as the provincial abbreviation or a vehicle with a red and a black mark can be found on military vehicles.

In summer 2002, new (blue ) indicator were issued in some cities ( with black lettering), which any combination of numbers and letters after the model 000-000, 000 -XXX and XXX -000 allowed (eg USA -911 ). This edition was canceled but after a few months, so since then only applies the default of 1992.
