Venaria Reale
Venaria Reale Venaria or short ( Piedmontese Venaria or la Veneria ) is a town with 34,244 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Turin (TO ), Region Piedmont.
At Venaria Reale includes the hamlets Altessano and Savonera. The neighboring municipalities are Robassomero, Caselle Torinese, Druento, Borgaro Torinese, Turin, Pianezza and Collegno. The patron saint of the place is Sant'Eusebio.
Geography
The village lies at an altitude of 262 m above sea level. The municipality covers an area of 20 km ².
Attractions
On the territory of the municipality is the belonging to the Savoy Residences Royal Palace of Venaria Reale.
Others
Immediately to the south of the Royal Palace is one of Italy's oldest airfields. In the spring of 1909 here began the first in Italy designed and built engine airplane, a Faccioli triplane. The airfield Mario Santi was until 2013 the site of a helicopter squadron of the Army.
