Villenave-d'Ornon

Villenave- d'Ornon is a French town with 28 984 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine. The city is located in the arrondissement of Bordeaux and forms its own canton.

Villenave- d'Ornon located south of Bordeaux, on the west bank of the Garonne. The community belongs to the community association Communauté Urbaine de Bordeaux and is accessible by bus lines of the TBC.

Villenave- d'Ornon is a wine-growing village in the wine region Graves and Pessac -Léognan appellation belongs to.

In Villenave- d'Ornon the Inaugurated in June 2009, Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin Bordeaux Aquitaine is ( ISVV ). It is the largest research center for viticulture in Europe and was designed by the architect Nicolas Ragueneau and Antoine Roux.
