Washington Park is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Broward County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,672 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Washington Park is adjacent to the cities of Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill, as well as to the CDP Boulevard Gardens.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,672 inhabitants distributed in 624 households. The population density was 1520.0 inh. / Km ². 2.8 % of the population were white, 94.9 % African American, 0.0% Native American and 0.4 % Asian Americans. 0.6 % were members of other ethnic groups and 1.3% in different ethnic groups. 1.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 24.7 % of all households lived in 40.6 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 70.8 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.12 and the average family size is 3.71 people.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 97.82 % of the population spoke Spanish and 2.17%.
