Working Classical is the third classical album by Paul McCartney. At the same time it is the thirty-first album Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles, including the Wings albums, the The- Fireman albums, classic albums, live albums and compilation albums. It was released on October 19, 1997 in the UK and in the USA.

Formation

Working Classical is unlike Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio and Standing Stone no commission to continue the album does not have a unified theme, but consists of fourteen completed songs. Ten of the fourteen songs are classic reinterpretations of previously released songs by Paul McCartney, only the songs Haymakers Midwife, spiral and Tuesday are new compositions.

First recording of the album took place on 10 and 11 October 1998 with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios instead, where the song was recorded Tuesdays, followed on November 9, 1998, the songs A Leaf and Spiral. From 21 to 25 February 1999, the remaining songs with the Loma Mar Quartet, were also recorded at Abbey Road Studios. During this recording session another song titled Nova yet finalized on 8 September 1999, which was published in a re-recording of the The Joyful Company of Singers on the compilation album A Garland for Linda on 14 February 2000.

The title of the album Working Classical arose loud Paul McCartney as he terms the "Working Class " and "Classical " put together, because he was proud that his ancestors come from the working class.

On October 16, 1999 Working Classical was performed at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall by the London Symphony Orchestra and the Loma Mar Quartet. The concert was broadcast on British television.

A double vinyl LP was released in the UK on December 6, 1999.
