Tripping the Live Fantastic is the second live album by Paul McCartney. At the same time, it is including the Wings albums of the twentieth album Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles. It was released on 5 November 1990 in the UK and November 6, 1990 in the U.S..

The compilation album Tripping the Live Fantastic - Highlights! is not a standalone new album by Paul McCartney and mainly includes selected songs of the album Tripping the Live Fantastic. It was released on November 19, 1990 in the UK and on 20 November 1990 in the United States.

Formation

Following the release of his album Flowers in the Dirt Paul McCartney was gone from September 1989 for the first time after ten years on tour again.

From September 26 to November 11, 1989 Paul McCartney started his world tour with a European tour with 28 concerts, from November 23 to December 15, followed by a North American tour with fourteen concerts. From January 2nd to January 26 In 1990, McCartney six concerts in Birmingham and eleven concerts in Wembley, London. From 1 to February 19, 1990 followed by eleven concerts in the U.S., six appearances in Tokyo ( 3 to 13 March 1990), then gave Paul McCartney from March 29 to April 15, 1990 nine concerts in the U.S..

With the concerts on 20 and 21 April 1990 at the Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, the tour should end. On Saturday, April 21, 184,000 people came to the stadium. At the request of concert organizers in the UK and the U.S., the world tour to three concerts in the UK ( 23, 28 and 30 June) and at twelve concerts in the U.S. ( 4 to 29 July 1990) was extended.

The album, the live recordings of Coming Up and Hey Jew published, includes - On August 6, 1990, the live compilation album Knebworth was by Polydor Records. As with Wings over America and this live album was released as a triple - LP and double CD. While you are on the album Wings over America five Beatles songs, the number was increased in Tripping the Live Fantastic at fifteen, in contrast to Wings over America the designation of authorship Lennon - McCartney was maintained.

The order of the songs corresponds with some exceptions, the order of the songs as they were played during the concerts. All My Trials was exclusively listed on 27 October 1989 in Milan. Birthday

On 8 October 1990 ( USA: October 16, 1990), the 7 " vinyl single appeared Birthday / Good Day Sunshine. In the U.S., only a music cassette was released. Furthermore, a 12 " vinyl Maxi Single / 5 " CD- single was released with the following songs in Europe:

The three B-sides are not included on the album.

In the USA 5 " CD Promotion singles were prepared containing only the song Birthday.

All My Trials

On November 26, was published in 1990 in the UK as the second single from the album All My Trials / C Moon (Live). Furthermore, two 5 " CD maxi singles released that first appeared as a 12" vinyl maxi-single were:

The songs C Moon, Mull of Kintyre and the medley Strawberry Fields Forever -Help! - Give Peace a Chance are not included on the album Tripping the Live Fantastic. The A-side All My Trials is located just on the album Tripping the Live Fantastic Highlights! .

The Long and Winding Road

In Germany in January 1991 as the second single The Long and Winding Road (Live ) / C Moon (Live) was released.

From Rio to Liverpool ( Going Home )
