Live and Let Die (song)

Live and Let Die is the title track of the eponymous James Bond film. It was written by Linda and Paul McCartney and recorded with Paul McCartney's group Wings. The song was released in June 1973 as a single with the B-side I Lie Around. It also appeared on the soundtrack album Live and Let Die. The song reached # 2 on the Billboard 200 and number 9 of the UK Top 40 Among many other artists, the song was covered by Guns N 'Roses in 1991. The piece was the first title song of a James Bond film, which was nominated for an Oscar.

Background

The piece was created in collaboration with the former Beatles producer George Martin, who produced the piece and the orchestral inserts arranged. Even before completion of the screenplay by Tom Mankiewicz film producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli Paul McCartney had invited to write the title track. The song is now one of the most popular James Bond theme songs. In the U.S., it was in 2012 awarded by the BMI for four million broadcasts. McCartney performed the song in June 2012 in addition to Let It Be, live at the Diamond Jubilee Concert on the occasion of the 60th jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II on. Also, the theme song to Casino Royale You Know My Name, was compared to Live and Let Die.

The version of Guns N 'Roses

The piece was coupled out in December 1991 as the fourth single of the two Use- Your- Illusion albums, as the second single from Use Your Illusion I. A music video was made to the band on stage showed how even when browsing through old photos. The video was shot shortly before Izzy Stradlin left the band. It is the last video in which he is seen. The version of Guns N 'Roses reached # 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 20 of the Mainstream Rock charts.
