All the Best! is the eighth solo album by Paul McCartney. At the same time it is the eighteenth album Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles and his second compilation album including the Wings albums. It was published on 2 November 1987 in the UK and December 1, 1987 in the U.S..

Formation

After the commercial failure of the album Press to Play Paul McCartney took with Phil Ramone as producer in February / March 1987 on several songs; but a LP release was not made. Two songs of these recording sessions have been published in 1987, Once Upon A Long Ago was for the compilation album All the Best! and used as a single A - side, the second song Back On My Feet was the B-side.

On 20 and July 21, 1987 Paul McCartney took on sixteen rock-' n' -roll title; four of these songs, Midnight Special, Do not Get Around Much More, Lawdy Miss Clawdy and Kansas City, have been used as a B-side tracks for two maxi singles of Once Upon A Long Ago, which appeared in November 1987.

Since the recorded songs were not used for a new studio album in 1987, another compilation album was released nine years after the release of Wings Greatest. Although All the Best! (European LP edition ) contains eleven songs from the Wings, was given as the sole artist Paul McCartney.

Originally, the title Waterspout, an unpublished song of the London Town sessions will be posted on the compilation album, this project but was rejected in favor of Once Upon A Long Ago.

The European LP version of All the Best! contains nineteen top- ten hits, including three number one hits from the UK. The Top Ten Hits from the UK Mary Had a Little Lamb, Wonderful Christmastime and Waterfalls are not included on the album. Maybe I'm Amazed (studio version ) was not a single in the UK.

The U.S. LP version of All the Best! contains seventeen top ten hits, including nine number-one hits, from the USA. The Top Ten Hits from the USA Helen Wheels, Mabe I'm Amazed (Live Version), Take It Away and Spies Like Us are not included on the album.

The duet with Michael Jackson The Girl is Mine, also a top ten hit in the UK and the U.S., is a composition by Michael Jackson and was released at a different sound carrier company, so this song for legal reasons on All the Best! is included.

The album was commercially very successful in the UK and it sold over 900,000 times in the United States more than two million copies were sold.
