The 1994/95 season was the 20th season of Division 1 as the second highest Swedish hockey league.

Mode
The league was divided into the first round in four groups of ten teams. The top two teams in each group qualified for the Allsvenskan, while the remaining eight teams had to compete in a qualifying round. For the qualifying round, the teams were given according to their main round placement between zero and seven bonus points. The top two finishers of each qualifying round qualified for the playoffs. The last player of skill groups rose directly from the Division 2, while the penultimate had to play in the relegation.
Of the ten teams in the Allsvenskan - in addition to the eight participants of the Division 1 and the two last placed the Elitserien main round took part - be qualified, the top two finishers for the Allvenskan final, the winner of which rise directly in the Elitserien and reached the league, while the losers in the Kvalserien another opportunity for advancement or relegation received. The teams ranked three and four of the Allsvenskan qualified for the third playoff round, the teams ranked five to eight for the second playoff round. The three playoff winners and losers Allsvenskan Final clashed in the Kvalserien to rise or relegation, the First Place was able to compete in the following season in the Elitserien.
For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
