2013–14 Austrian Cup

The Cup of the Austrian Football is played in the 2013/14 season for the 79th time. The official name of the competition is for the fourth time in a row, " OFB Samsung Cup". The winner is entitled to participate in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2014/15.

Defending champion FC Traun, who had won in the previous season was the first league club the title.

Results of the 1st round

The very first round brought more exciting games, numerous gates and a few surprises. Eight games went into overtime, six of which were decided on penalties; for example, the clash of LASK Linz with SK Rapid Wien, the 5-4 in a penalty shootout decided the third division against the Bundesliga side after goalless extra time for themselves and threw the record champion in the first round of the competition. With the newly promoted SV Grödig it got off to a second division club. The Grödiger were beaten with 5:6 after a 1-1 draw in extra time in the local derby at the sports club Austria Salzburg on penalties. Hero of the game was goalkeeper Stefan Ebner, who fended off three penalties. Drama was also the penalty shootout between 1 SC Sollenau and the Vienna Sports Club, which was decided after a 1-1 draw in extra time until the 14th penalty 5-4 for Sollenau.
