2013 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
The Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi 2013 ( officially 2013 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ) was held on November 3 at the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island instead, and was the 17th race of the Formula 1 season 2013.

Background
After the Grand Prix of India Sebastian Vettel led the drivers' championship with 115 points ahead of Fernando Alonso and 139 points ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Red Bull -Renault resulted in the constructors' championship with 157 points ahead of Mercedes and 161 points ahead of Ferrari. Vettel and Red Bull -Renault were prematurely laid as a world champion.
At the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi put Pirelli riders the tire compounds P Zero medium ( white) and P Zero soft (yellow) as well as for wet Cinturato Intermediates (green) and Cinturato Full Wets (blue ) are available.
Lotus set up two different specifications of the Lotus E21 at this Grand Prix. Romain Grosjean drove the version with a longer wheelbase that was used in the previous races of two pilots, Räikkönen took the version with a shorter wheelbase, which had come early in the season to use.
With Vettel ( twice), Lewis Hamilton and Raikkonen ( once each ) were all former winners of this Grand Prix.
As race stewards acted Khaled Bin Shai (UAE ), Martin Donnelly (GBR ), Tim Mayer ( USA) and Lars Österlind (SWE ).
During the race, a partial eclipse was observed.
Training
In the first free practice Grosjean was the fastest rider in front of Hamilton and Vettel. In this training, James Calado the Force India of Adrian Sutil, Heikki Kovalainen took the Caterham of Giedo van der Garde and Rodolfo González to Marussia by Max Chilton. In the second free practice Vettel took the lead ahead of Mark Webber and Hamilton. Several pilots had problems with their braking systems.
In the third free practice session the first three positions remained unchanged. In an accident at the first corner Jules Bianchi his vehicle damaged to such an extent that the transmission had to be replaced, so he was transferred to the grid to the back.
Qualifying
In the first phase of qualifying Hamilton set the fastest time. Was less than a second distance between the Second and Eighteenth. The Marussia and Caterham pilots and Adrian Sutil and Esteban Gutierrez dropped out. In the second segment Rosberg took the lead. The Williams driver Jean-Eric Vergne as well, Jenson Button, Paul di Resta and Alonso dropped out. In the final section Webber set the fastest time and achieved the pole position ahead of Vettel and Rosberg.
After qualifying a non- rule- compliant subfloor was found in the technical verification at Raikkonen's Lotus, so he was excluded from the evaluation. Lotus said that the underbody was damaged in contact with a curbstone. However, this could not be proved. Raikkonen was allowed to start the race.
Race
Vettel won the race ahead of team mate Webber and Rosberg. Vettel led the race throughout and came up with over 30 -second lead to the finish.
