Geography

Geographical Location

The municipality is located in Vorwaldgebiet of the Bavarian Forest with access to the Federal Highway 3 between Passau ( 20 km) and Deggendorf (35 km). In addition, it is 12 km from Vilshofen away. Through the municipality runs the Gaissa, which flows into the Danube close to Passau.

History

The settlement name first appears in 1150 as a calibration marriage. Some documents come from the same time as Aichakeirchen and Aichehechirchen, which points to a settlement with a church. Originally, the name derives from the Old High German word eihhahi for " oak forest ". To avoid confusion with the same places, was from about 1720 additional vorm Wald as an indication of the location of the place near the Bavarian Forest. Aicha vorm Wald belonged to the Barons of Peckenzell. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark whose seat was Aicha. Mayor is Theodor Schuster ( CDU). He was confirmed in 2002 by Siegfried successor mayor ( CSU / CDU Union) and 2008 with 77.72 % in his office.

Finances

The municipal tax revenue in 1999 amounted to the equivalent of € 650 / day.

Economy

Economy, agriculture and forestry

There were 1998 in the field of agriculture and forestry none, in the production sector 322, and in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. Castle Aicha vorm Wald
