History

About the Founding and the Founder Hauzenbergs one has to rely on guesswork. To the year 1000 place names " village " and " mountain " were common. It must be concluded that at this time the place Hauzenberg and a number of major settlements in the area of the market have emerged. Was settled, the area of Hauzenberg with some certainty already at the advance of the Bavarians in the 8th century. How far Celts and Romans have penetrated from the Danube in the former North Forest, is uncertain. According to recent findings it seems clear that the first settlement forms were already present in the Neolithic period around 5000 BC. Stone Age finds at Staffelberg which are held at City Hall, prove this.

In the year 1010 the area around Hauzenberg goes through a donation Emperor Henry II to the monastery Niedernburg in Passau and is thus incorporated into the so-called " Abteyland ". The highest point of the area Oberfrauenwald, reminiscent of that time. 1130 Hauzenberg is first mentioned. It has by this time already a branch church of the parish Kellberg. Middle of the 14th century seems Hauzenberg already a handsome place of about 65 property and some economic importance to have been. Bishop Gottfried von Passau elevates the place to " Corporal market " and adds the associated " Ehhaft " ( the local law in paragraph 45 ) and the Freedom Charter in 1359. Then approved the markets are still held today.

The provided with extensive self- rights market of the Bishopric of Passau was secularized in 1803 with the largest part of the area hochstiftischen favor of Ferdinand of Tuscany. Since the peace treaties of Brno and Bratislava in 1805 the place belonged to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. In the years after 1933, the Nazi Party led by its own territorial organization, during which the county seat of the party came to Hauzenberg and later to Passau. In the market Hauzenberg itself in 1937 formed a joint management with the communities Jahrndorf and Wotzdorf based in Hauzenberg. In the course of democratization of the management of this entity was dissolved on June 1, 1948.

Gradually, the administrations of the individual communities were moved to the respective principal places. Economically remained the communities connected and given the increasing demands of the population in the state and municipalities in 1965 renewed overtures were observed. It came as part of a model case for urban and village renewal of the Bavarian government to set up a joint land use plan of the municipalities Hauzenberg, Jahrndorf, Wotzdorf and Raßreuth, but who gained no legal force. This land use plan eventually became the basis of the reorganization of the area around Hauzenberg in the municipal reform on 1 January 1972. Germannsdorf These communities, Jahrndorf, Raßreuth and Windpassing were incorporated into the market Hauzenberg. 1 July 1972, together with the inclusion of the district Wegscheid in the district of Passau followed by the municipalities upper Diendorf and Raßberg.

Your degree finally found the local government reform on May 1, 1978, inclusion of community Wotzdorf and parts of the community Oberneureuth with the main town Krinning. The final steps of municipal reform coincided with the application of the market Hauzenberg on award of the title "City " together.

The regional planning takes this into account. Through voluntary municipal mergers, the population of so far in 2500 will grow to 12,000 residents. The Church agrees with this development. The Pfarrverband Hauzenberg - Germannsdorf and the small parish Hague coincide exactly in 1976 with the final town limits.
