André Steiner

André Steiner ( born February 8, 1970 in Gera ) is a retired German rower, the 1996 Olympic champion.

Steiner won in 1987 at the Junior World Championships title in the double sculls. In 1989 he was awarded the championship title of the GDR in the quadruple sculls. 1991 Steiner won, his time starting for the Potsdam rowing community, along with Oliver Green in the double sculls bronze at the World Rowing Championships. But both missed the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

In Barcelona, ​​the German sculls in the cast André Willms, Stephan Volkert, Andreas Hajek and Michael Steinbach had won the gold medal.
