Andreas Küttel

Andreas Küttel ( born April 25, 1979 in Einsiedeln ) is a retired Swiss ski jumper.

Career

He jumped for the ski club Einsiedeln, he was trained by Martin Künzle. Since 1986 Andreas Küttel ran the ski jumping. On 2 December 1995 he made ​​his debut in the World Cup Ski Jumping. In the Summer Grand Prix 2005, he celebrated his first victory in Bischofshofen ( Austria ). His personal best jump of 222 meters, it had 2006 in ski flying in Planica (Slovenia). As a professional he has studied and completed gymnastics and sports teacher at the ETH Zurich.

His first World Cup victory won Andreas Küttel on 3 December 2005 in Lillehammer. In this competition he also equal to a new hill record of 139 meters. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, he was world champion from the large hill at a due to snow and wind after one pass broken jumping.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he reached in jumping on the normal hill in 35th place and thus left after the first passage. In the Swiss ski jumping championships 2010 in Einsiedeln Küttel won the normal hill in front of Simon Ammann and Marco Grigoli the gold medal.

After the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he finished his career.

Küttel is athlete ambassador of development organization Right to Play. He is married and since the December 6th, 2009 one son.
