Anton Tkáč

Anton Tkáč ( born March 30, 1951 in Lozorno, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czechoslovakian bicycle racer who was successful only as track cyclists.

Tkáč was third in the 1970 World Cycling Championships in railway 1000 meters time trial and 1974 world champion in track sprint. With the Summer Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976 he defeated in the final of the track sprint tournament the Olympic champion in 1968 and 1972, the Frenchman Daniel Morelon, and won the gold medal. 1978 Tkáč was again champion in track sprint.

Tkáč was 1976 and 1978 in Czechoslovakia athlete of the year, today he is a functionary in Slovakia Cycling Federation.
