The rebuilding and extension of the castle in the Renaissance style (1540-1560) and the High Baroque (1672-1686) were the Baroque chapel and the former Benefiziatenhaus, today Prientalmuseum built. After further changes, especially from 1905-1908 by Theodor von Cramer- Klett, their property was transferred to the Federal Republic of Germany and is today used as a holiday residence of the Federal Finance Administration.
