History

The ASV Köln was founded on 27 February 1929 as Academic Sports Association at the University of Cologne. In 1936 the detachment of the University and was renamed Athletics Sports Club Cologne eV

Until the early 1980s, the ASV Cologne was one of the leading German athletics clubs. Lack sponsors it came from the 1990s, however, especially when compared to regional competitors TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen to a decreasing financial strength. The continuous loss of almost all top athletes and a large part of the talented young was the result. From 1934 to 1999, the ASV Köln was the organizer of the highly successful ASV Sports Day in Mungerdorferstadion in which several world records have been set and that drew in the best of times, more than 30,000 spectators.

With the beginning of 2008 a community was established with the adjacent track team German Sport University Cologne in the field of athletics. ASV running team

The ASV running team is a training community of middle and long distance runners as well as some long sprinters in the ASV Köln. Membership in the club tradition, however, is mandatory, so that the overwhelming majority of runners completed competitions for the ASV Köln.

Formation

The beginnings of the ASV run teams date back to 1997 when the running of the department ASV Cologne was almost extinct. Achievements

The greatest success of floorball department is winning the West German Championship 2010 ( men's large field ) and the associated rise in the 2nd Bundesliga Nord -West. The women's team was able to demonstrate in their debut season 2009/10 in the West Regional second place and qualified for the play-offs at the German Championship 2010 in Kiel, which was finished in third place. ASV -Floor Baller in the national

Since 1 August 2010, Daniel Mahnken is coach of the German U19 national team of ladies. He is a player in the first men's team and coach of the women's team of ASV Köln. Janik Pfeiffer, player of the first men's team, was at the Floorball World Championship 2010 in Helsinki / Finland in the Germany squad. ASV Frisbee
