Belgium at the 1996 Summer Olympics

Belgium took at the 1996 Summer Olympics for the 22nd time in the Olympic Summer Games in part. The team consisted of 61 athletes, of which 41 men and 20 were women. They started in 55 competitions in 14 sports and won a total of two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Thus, the Belgian team reached number 31 in the medal table. The youngest participant was a swimmer, Yseult Gervy 17 years and 182 days, the oldest was the rider Eric Wauters with 45 years and 81 days. The Belgian flag was worn during the opening ceremony on 19 July 1996 by the table tennis player Jean-Michel Saive in the Olympic Stadium.
