Boyarka
Boyarka (Ukrainian and Russian Боярка ) is a city in the Ukraine in the Kiev Oblast with 34 264 inhabitants ( 2013).
The city is located in the south of Rajon Kiev Swjatoschyn on the highway about 15 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Kiev.

History
The place has long been settled. In times of Kievan Rus here there was a Slavic settlement ( ' Budajiwka '). The settlement Budajiwka was mentioned at the beginning of the 16th century for the first time. In 1956, the city Boyarka created by the merger of settlements Boyarka, Budajiwka and Nowa Tarasiwka.

- Nikolai Ostrovsky, Soviet writer, author of the cult novel How the Steel Was Tempered, whose action takes place in the near Boyarka. In the city is the Museum of Ostrovsky.
