Vyshneve

Wyschnewe (Ukrainian Вишневе; Russian Вишнёвое / Wischnjowoje ) is a city in the Ukraine in the Kiev Oblast with 36 907 inhabitants ( 2013). The city is a satellite city of Kiev, only a few kilometers to the southwest.

History

The beginning of the city dates back to the year 1887, when the railway station here Zhulyany was built. In 1961 the settlement in Wyschnewe ( cherries ) was renamed because here actually grew very many cherry trees.

In the 1960s, the industry of the city has expanded dramatically and the population rose rapidly. 1971 Wyschnewe received city rights.
