Braden Holtby

Braden Holtby ( born September 16, 1989 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2009 with the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Braden Holtby began his career as a hockey player in his hometown junior team in Lloydminster Blazers, for which he was active in the 2004/05 season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Then the goalkeeper from 2005 to 2009 played for the Saskatoon Blades in the Canadian top junior Western Hockey League and was elected in his final year at the blades in the All-Star team in the Eastern Conference of the WHL. During his time in Sakatoon he was also selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the fourth round as a total of 93 players from the Washington Capitals. For their farm team, the Hershey Bears, he was in the 2009/10 season his debut in the senior professional field and won with his team immediately the Calder Cup.
