Geography

Geographical location

Bruck is located in the Upper Palatinate in the Natural Park of the Upper Bavarian Forest, about 35 kilometers northeast of Regensburg on the main road 85 districts are Vorderthürn, Hinterthürn and Kellerhof, Sollbach with the earlier parts of the municipality Kobl, Wacken Ried, Ried, Gipfelberg and Sulzmühl, nice grass earlier with the parts of the municipality Koelbl village and Hofing, like village and Mappach. By Bruck flows of Sulzbach, resulting in Hammersee in Bodenwoehr and empties into Nittenau in the rain.

History

Bruck was first mentioned in 1140 and in 1343 first described as a market. Here crossed the major road from Regensburg to Prague to Sulzbach. There was traded with salt.

Incorporations

In 1945 or 1946, the formerly independent communities Mappach, like village and Vorderthürn were incorporated. On 1 July 1971 Nice grass and Sollbach were added.

Policy

Market council

The market municipal election on 2 March 2008 resulted in the following distribution of the 16 seats:

  • CSU: 7 seats
  • FWG: 4 seats
  • SPD: 3 seats
  • GREEN: 2 seats

Mayor

The mayoral election on 11 January 2009 led to the following result:

  • Hans Frankl (FW): 43.87 %
  • Robert Feuerer (CSU ): 38.47 %
  • Helmut Falter Meier (SPD ): 13.72 %
  • Rudi summer ( GREEN ): 3.93%

The two strongest candidates occurred on January 25, 2009 in a run-off against each other, with 53.29 % of the vote against Robert Feuerer (CSU ) won, Hans Frankl (FW) who scored 46.71 %.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Azure, on silver waves a golden wooden bridge on which below a red crowned and red reinforced golden lion. Coat of arms since the end of the 15th century.

Traffic

On the motorway network Bruck is connected by 15 kilometers away federal highway 93 ( coming from the South: Junction Teublitz (35 ), from the north: Schwandorf junction center ( 33) in the direction of Cham - B 85). The well-developed national road 85 passes right next to the market ( in the region because of the partially four-lane routes Bayer forest highway called ), and the dual carriageway B 16n, which leads directly to Regensburg can be reached by about 7 kilometers away neighboring town Nittenau.

A train station is located in the neighboring municipality Bodenwoehr. The train is ensured by the Oberpfalzbahn. The line runs from Schwandorf to Furth im Wald on Bodenwoehr -Nord, Roding and Cham. Between 1907 and 1955, was in place a stop on the railway line Bodenwoehr - Nittenau. This railway line is now traveled only by freight trains.

The airfield Nittenau -Bruck has the ICAO code EDNM and lies between the two villages and Nittenau Bruck.

Initiative Danube - Vltava -Bahn

The city of Regensburg has taken along with other Eastern Bavarian municipalities and institutions in the past few years a number of measures to improve rail infrastructure in eastern Bavaria. Here is a new line between Regensburg and Pilsen arise on which to drive the long distance trains from Munich to Prague. If the project is realized, it is likely that Bruck- Nice grass and Nittenau gets a station on the new rail line.
