Computer Associates International, Inc. was founded in 1976 in New York by Charles B. Wang with three employees and has been renamed to CA, Inc. 2004. Was to house exhibition CA World 2010, another name change to CA Technologies. The company is one of the largest software companies in the world and sells management software for networks, storage, security, and project and portfolio management. Seat of CA 's Islandia in the U.S. state of New York.

In 1992, Computer Associates bought the company Nantucket, the provider of the widely used database language Clipper, but could not build on the success of Clipper after 1995 with the successor language Visual Objects.
The company posted in fiscal year 2011 ( it ended on 31 March) sales of 4.43 billion U.S. dollars and had to date worldwide 13,800 employees, including in Germany and 60 in Austria. Approximately 510 Currently supervise the employees customers in over 140 countries.
