Cervélo TestTeam
The Cervélo TestTeam is a former Swiss cycling team.
History
It was named after the Canadian bike manufacturer Cervélo and the team at the Cycling United GmbH, headquartered in Immensee was conducted. The sponsorship was designed initially for four years. As a manager Theo Maucher led the team. Sports director were Marcello Albasini, Jean -Paul van Poppel, Alexandre Sans, Philippe Mauduit and Jens Zemke.
Since 2009, the team took as a Professional Continental team professional bicycle race part. The sporting success was expressly not in the first place, because in addition to appearances at major cycling race riders tested the new products and were thus actively involved in the development process at the company Cervélo. Besides the winner of the 2008 Tour de France, Carlos Sastre, the team could also multiple Tour stage winner Thor Hushovd and Andreas Klier undertake with a considered classics rider.
End of January 2009, the team was invited to the great Italian spring races: Tirreno- Adriatico participate, Milan - Sanremo and the Giro d' Italia. In March 2009, the team was able to start at the stage classic Paris-Nice, and it was the Tour de France invited 2009.
2010, the team was invited back to the Tour de France.
With the end of the 2010 season, the Cervélo TestTeam moved for financial reasons back as an independent team from cycling and merged with the Garmin-Transitions team for Garmin-Cervélo team.
